Genevieve Moore valiantly completed her final trial of mortality Nov. 28, 2014, surrounded by loved ones at her home in Castle Rock.

She was born to Robert and Alice Young Aug. 5, 1949, in Oakland, Calif. She married Lloyd J. Moore Nov. 11, 1978.

Genevieve was a devoted wife, cherished mother, and beloved grandmother. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her family was her most cherished treasure. She will be remembered for her optimism, faith, generosity, kindness, and selfless concern for others. Her courage facing life's challenges was an inspiration to all.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 36 years, Lloyd; three siblings, Nina Hauke, Eva Young and Edwin Young; three children and their spouses, Robert and Kristin, Jeffrey and Tia, and Jolene and Travis Alcorn; and eight grandchildren, Scott, Sabrina, Charles, Benjamin, Garrett, Dylan, Logan and James.

She was preceded in death by her eldest son, Scott; and a sister, Arleen.

A viewing is planned from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. today followed by a memorial service at the LDS Meeting House, 2884 North Pacific Ave., in Kelso. Interment will follow at Skyline Memorial Gardens in Portland.
