Huntsville - Alan Everett Clapperton, 63, passed away May 26, 2012 at McKay Dee Hospital. He was born January 23, 1949 in Oakland, California to Everett Claire and Janet H. Wheelwright Clapperton. Alan graduated from Oakland High School, Ricks College and Weber State University.
Alan married Ramona Sanderson on August 28, 1970 in Freedom, WY; their marriage was solemnized on Nov. 29, 1975 in the LDS Ogden Temple. He was a member of the LDS Church, where he served in the Elders Quorum Presidency, as Sunday School President and in the High Priest Group Leadership.
He was employed by Farmers Insurance as a Claims Liability Manager and Supervisor for 36 years; retiring in Jan. 2012. He had served as a Reserve Officer with the Weber Co. Sheriff's Office, a member of the Weber Co. Search and Rescue Mounted Posse and snowmobile rescue. He currently served on the Huntsville Town Council and has been a board member on the Weber Fire District for the past 14 years. For the past 20 years he set off Huntsville's 4th of July fireworks. Alan enjoyed snowmobiling and horse-riding.
Alan was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Ramona; children, Kristi Dawn (Chris) Sandberg, Traci Lee (Aaron) Barney, Bryan Alan Clapperton and Sandi Lyn (Cody) Farr; and 7 grandchildren with one on the way.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at the Huntsville 1st Ward, 277 S. 7400 E. Friends may call on Tuesday, May 29th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. and Monday from 9:30 to 10:40 a.m. at the church. Interment, Huntsville Cemetery.
