Alan Gary Abreu Resident of Danville, CA
Alan lost his battle with liver disease and cancer on October 4, 2012. Alan was born in Oakland, CA on February 6, 1948. He graduated from Oakland Senior High School, where he played varsity football and baseball, sang in the choir and played in the band and orchestra. He attended Cal State University Hayward where he earned bachelor and master degrees. His strong sense of duty led him to interrupt his education to serve in the Marine Corps during Viet Nam. After completing his education he continued his public service with Contra Costa County Health Department as Financial Controller of Public Health for over 30 years. He was also involved with his son and his sports activities with a particular love for baseball. He is survived by his wife, Molly, and son, Jeffrey to whom he was a loving, caring husband and father. There will be a celebration of Alan's life at the Danville, CA Veteran's Memorial Hall, 400 Hartz Avenue on Sunday, October 28th at 2pm.
