Bob died peacefully at the age of 69. He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Kain. He raised two children, Drew Kain and Barbara Sheehy, and when he and Brenda married, he gained a son, Matthew Broman. He had eight grandchildren who were the light of his life. He is also survived by his sister, Beverly Malcolm, and his friend, Maryanne Kain. Bob was the Executive Director of the Diablo Valley Foundation for the Aging. His hobbies included hiking, photography, and wine making.

A Memorial Service will be held at St. Bonaventure Church, Concord, on May 12, at 3 PM with reception to follow. Donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
