Tom Croda Thomas George Croda Resident of San Leandro Tom passed away at home on January 5, 2012 while under hospice care from recently diagnosed Stage IV Melanoma. Tom was born in Oakland, CA on December 30, 1942 and attended Our Lady of Lourdes, Bishop O'Dowd High School [sic], and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. He first met his best friend, Ginjer Hart at Winterland on October 19th 1969 while both were watching David Crosby (Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young) and married her on November 23, 1973. Tom was predeceased by his father George and is survived by his wife Ginjer, his mother Eleanor, and his younger brothers Dennis (Rita) and Mark (Katrina) as well as numerous nephews and nieces and other family members. Tom Croda Tom was fascinated by how things worked and especially those related to electrical engineering systems. Tom loved his chosen profession. When Tom wasn't working, he was talking about his work with his colleagues and friends. Tom worked for GTE Lenkurt for 17 years. The company was bought by Sprint and he "retired" from Sprint Long Distance after another 17 years to work for Navisite. For the last 10 years, Tom was associated with CSI Telecommuni-cations, Inc. Tom has been cremated and a memorial service is being planned. Donations in Tom's memory to the Melanoma Research Foundation would be appreciated.
