On March 1, 2012, this world lost an amazing man, son, husband, father, grandfather and friend who touched the lives of many; Donald Ejner Banke, 68.

Don was born and raised in Oakland, CA on July 23, 1943. He met his loving wife and best friend of 49 years Peggy Davis.

He graduated from Laney College, then he became a Lather in the building trades working his way up to superintendant. In 1967, an opportunity came to work side by side with his brother in law and mentor, Les Thayer, in contributing to the success of Miracle Auto Painting. With tremendous growth of the business, he subsequently became a franchise owner of two locations in the bay area.

Donald BankeDuring his life, he enjoyed, baseball, golfing, gardening, traveling and spending time with his family. He is best remembered for his strong work ethic, compassion for others and his great sense of humor about life. He always said, "You get out of life what you put into it." He is survived by his loving wife Peggy, his daughter Debbie Welch and son Darren Banke. He is survived by 8 grandchildren: JP, Amanda, Kimi, Robert, Sydney, Michael, Joey, Lillian Rose; and 2 great grandchildren; Mya and Jake.

Private Services to be held at Sunset Mausoleum.
