Chloe Ellen Lietzke, nee Umstead, left this world on August 29th, 2012, at the age of 70. Chloe's intellectual and spiritual curiosities, bright warm heart, and great imagination were appreciated by her family as well as her many friends and pen pals. She had a cheerful demeanor and a vast capacity for delight, despite living with pain and limited mobility for over 20 years.

After attending a 1954 Elvis Presley concert, she developed a lifelong passion for "The King" and collected his music, movies and memorabilia. Her own creativity manifested in many ways from poetry to comic strips to movie scripts. As a teen with braces, forbidden to chew gum, she created the character of boutique gum inventor Goof Stickus, and told of his adventures in illustrated strips throughout her life.

She is well loved, and will be missed by her family: devoted husband of 48 years, Fred Lietzke; brother Roger Coutts-Umstead; stepsisters Nancy Hammond and Gael Routenberg, daughters Lori Lietzke and Liesa Lietzke, and granddaughter Jazmine Ruppenthal. Chloe will be buried this week at the Fernwood Cemetery in Mill Valley.
