It is with great sadness that the family of Harry Rudolph Schroeter, III announces his passing after a brief illness, on Saturday, February 17th, 2018, at the age of 75 years.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sharon (nee Richards), sons Steven, and David (Kari), daughter Ruth (Allen) Tate and his eight grandchildren, Luke, Mark, Zachary, Julia, Jayden, Cole, Claire and Benjamin, and by his sister, Hazel (Jeffrey) Powell and their daughter Amy.

Born in California, Harry attended the University of California, Berkeley and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA. He worked in various power plants for over 30 years.

Harry served as a first lieutenant in the US Army from 1965 until being honorably discharged in 1967. He served at the Pine Bluff Arsenal, where he met Sharon on a blind date. He also served in Korea.

A man of great faith, Harry was very active in their church, serving as deacon and participating in several ministries.

Harry will be interred in the family plot at the Sarasota National Cemetery at 10:30am on Thursday, February 22nd, 2018, with Rev. Berkley Helms officiating.

A celebration of his life will follow at the Toale Brothers Funeral Home, Gulf Gate Chapel, 6903 South Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, Florida 34231, from 12pm until 2pm.
