Robert "Bob" Mitchell

Cold Springs resident Robert "Bob" Allen Mitchell died Monday at Sonora Regional Medical Center. He was 69.Robert

Born in Oakland to Margaret and Allen Mitchell, he was a retired carpenter.

He lived in Cold Springs for 20 years.

He enjoyed skiing, especially at Dodge Ridge, being outdoors, fishing, hiking, sailing, going to the Sonora Pass, hiking and being in the mountains.

His nickname was "Bandana Bob."

Mr. Mitchell is survived by his wife of 27 years, Lynda Mitchell, of Cold Springs; Jessica Mitchell, of Durango, Colo., Cody Mitchell, of Richmond, Jason Smith, of Tuolumne, Jennifer McKinley, of Virginia, and Samantha Kuhnel, of Jamestown; and grandchildren, Lay'li and Akira Mitchell, and Anastasia Upshaw, all of Durango, Colo., Isaac Pierce, of Jamestown, and Caleb, Lillie and Dustin Smith, all of Tuolumne.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Rane Mitchell.

A memorial service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday at the Steam Donkey in Pinecrest.
