Thomas Harvey Mitchell, 77, of San Jose, CA, departed this life on May 24. Harvey graduated from Oakland High School and San Francisco State University. He leaves a legacy as an educator and musical coordinator in San Jose, where he was involved with several choral groups.

Survived by his sister Billie Matthews and brother Wilton Mitchell, both of Winston Salem, NC; one aunt, Iris Perez, of Berkeley, CA; uncles Thomas (Ruby) Waugh of Oakland, CA and Warner Waugh of Philadelphia, PA; several very special nieces and nephews; Harvey is mourned by many other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, May 31, at Piedmont Gardens, 110 41st Street, Oakland, CA 94611.
