Burton Seward Cooper was born on May 23, 1931 in Toronto, Canada to the late Llewellyn and Gertude Cooper. In 1943, the family moved to Piedmont, CA where Burt attended Oakland High School and in 1950 attended the University of San Francisco. While attending the University. Burt worked for his father's company. Redi Rite Business Forms. He later became interested in real estate and founded his own company. Burt went on to develop many residential properties in CA and in 1965 was president of the Oakland Board of Realtors. Burt moved from California to Atlanta in 1991 to oversee his apartment communities. During those years, Burt was active with Childkind Foundation. the American Cancer Society, the Parkinson's Foundation and the American Red Cross. Burt lived life to the fullest and with tremendous enthusiasm. He had an insatiable appetite for travel and visited more than 100 countries in his lifetime. He also owned and operated his first airplane, an Acronca, at the age of 17, and he was proud to have introduced one of the first Porsche Cabriolet to the United States in 1951. Burt was an avid snow skier, enjoying the sport in Canada, Lake Tahoe and the Swiss Alps and his excitement to try new things spurred him on to celebrate his 70th birthday by parachuting out of an airplane! Burt's kindness, caring and zest for life will be greatly missed.

Burt is survived by his devoted wife Candy de Golian Cooper, his three children; Carin (Mike) Batham of Yuba City, CA. Britt (Jenny) Cooper of Coronado Island, CA. Cheryl (Bill) Anson of Fair Oaks, CA; and sister Carolyn (Marvin) Miller of Redwood City, CA. Grandchildren: Molly, Hannah, and Sophia Cooper and Brynn Anson. A celebration of life will be hosted for the immediate family. In lieu of flowers, Burt requested that donations be made to the Parkinson's Foundation, the Atlanta Childcare Foundation or to one's own choice of charity.
