COYLE, Diane Helen
Passed away November 8, 2014 after a brief illness.
Diane was born August 27, 1932 in Oakland, CA to Russell and Ann Cleu. A graduate of Oakland High School, she worked for Pacific Telephone where she met William Coyle. They married in 1955 and lived in San Francisco where their daughters, Julie and Susan, were born. After a few transfers the family moved to Napa, CA where they lived for ten years until a move to Santa Rosa in 1973.
Diane began a career with Santa Rosa City Schools as a library aide at Montgomery High School. She moved over to Santa Rosa Junior High, working in the library and the student activities office until she retired in 1995. At SRJH Diane made some close and enduring friendships which she cherished throughout her life.
Diane continued her daily walks in retirement with her dogs Maggie and then Hayes. She enjoyed her travels with Bill to the East coast and later to France with her sister, Nancy. Being active and involved in grandson Duncan's life brought her special joy. For over 30 years Diane volunteered her time at events for the Volunteer Center of Sonoma County, carrying on a tradition that began with Bill's involvement. The last ten years she also gave support and volunteered at F.I.S.H., the local food pantry.
Diane was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Bill Coyle and also by her sister, Nancy Hora. She is survived by her daughters, Julie Owens (Richard) and Susan Hatch (Rich), and grandson Duncan Hatch. She was lovely, gracious and kind and will be missed by many.
