Emily Mary Vlastelin Emily Mary Reves (Vlastelin), aged 86 passed away peacefully on September 19, 2016. Born in Astoria, NY, Emily moved to Oakland with her parents in 1944. She received a sewing machine for her 16th birthday and made much of her own clothing from then on. After graduating from Oakland HS, she worked at Smith's Clothier and as an Executive Secretary at the Kaiser Shipyard in Richmond. In 1957, Emily and a friend travelled Europe for three months, being wined and dined by handsome young men. Emily married Bob Reves in 1958 and moved to Sacramento in 1960. While raising her daughters, Emily enjoyed painting, crafting and especially thrift store shopping. Emily devoted her life to her family, attending lovingly to her grand and great-grand-children. Emily Mary VlastelinShe loved to throw a good party, especially her famous Christmas parties. Emily had a welcoming and open personality and was truly interested in everyone she met. She is preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Robert E. Reves Jr. and her brother, John Vlastelin [OHS 1947] and sister-in-law, Helen. Emily is survived by her daughters, Robin (Reves-May) and Tina (Harris), of Sacramento, three granddaughters, and five great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 1 from 1-4 at 4901 S. Land Park Dr., 95822, Sacramento.
