Dorothy Frances Kass 1929-2012 Former Resident of Lafayette & Walnut Creek Dorothy was a resident of Burney Falls, CA where she died peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 16th- 2012. Born to parents Ralph and Florence Dowe she attended Our Lady of Lourdes and Oakland High Schools. While working at Jackson's Furniture store she met Albert, a graduate of UC Berkeley, they married in Carmel, November 18, 1950. They attended many Cal Bear games and always celebrated "Big Game" weekend with after parties on both sides of the bay. She was proud to serve on the Board of Directors of Oakland Children's Hospital for many years, and with over 40 years as a member of Cypress Branch she made lifelong friends. Dorothy was preceded in death by husband Albert in 2007. She leaves behind three children, Nick (Jane), Kathy (Gil), and Tim, eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Her extended family of three nieces, Sylvia, Mary and Cynthia, their husbands and families who will all miss her greatly. The family would like to express their gratitude to Tasha and Kody who cared for her during the past year. Donations in her memory to Children's Hospital, Oakland.
