Irving was born in Oakland to Ada and Irving Domes Sr. He was a graduate of Oakland High School, the class of 1948. He served in the United States Coast Guard from 1950-1953. Survived by his loving wife of 54 years Irene Domes and his loving children, daughter, Teresa (Greg) de Bord and son, Steven (Anne) Domes, 3 cherished grandchildren Kaylene, Sarah and Kyle.
