Bernard S. Morris Bernard S. Morris Passed away April 13, 2006, after a valiant fight with lymphoma.

Bernard was the son of Margaret and Ben Morris, born April 28, 1924. Loving father of Kathleen Cockriell, Linda Breiner, and Annette Stadie; preceded in death by his son, Bradley Morris. Caring stepfather to Bill Ruppert, Donna Burkett and Sharon Leigh. Grandfather of Matthew Lilligren, Spencer Breiner, John Burkett, Christian Burkett, Justin Leigh, Amber Leigh, Ryan Leigh and Alyssa Stadie. Loving husband and best friend of Shirley Morris.

Bernard was active in many organizations: past president of East Oakland Rotary, past president of the Oakland S.P.C.A., past president of the California Green Cross, also past president of the American Paralysis Association. A graduate of Oakland High School and U.C. Berkeley. He served in the military and retired a decorated World War II captain of the U.S. infantry. Bernard was the owner of Morris Draying Company.

He will be missed by his many friends and family. Memorial services are scheduled for Thursday, May 11, 2:00pm at the Lafayette Presbyterian Church.
