Coline Margaret Oas died peacefully on February 11, 2016, in Monterey , CA . Born in Seattle ,WA , on December 9, 1924, she was the only child of James M. and Margaret E. (Collins) Chilson. She moved to Oakland, CA in 1934, graduated from Oakland High School in 1941[sic], and later attended University of California, Davis, Oregon State University, and Fresno State College. Although she lived in Fresno for over 30 years, she more recently resided in Marina ,CA.
A spirited individual, her many talents included drawing, writing, horseback riding, cooking, and entertaining. She loved to camp and spend time with her friends and family. She enjoyed volunteering as a beginning riding instructor for the Fresno Pony Club for many years. Coline leaves us with this message, "If I crossed your path, you helped me; in turn, I helped those who crossed my path."
Coline was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Oliver; second husband, David Oas; and her son, Daniel Oas. She is survived by her daughter, Lauren Godfrey and her husband Robert; her grandson, Alan Godfrey and his fiancee Emily Baits; and her granddaughter, Lisa Godfrey. Per her request, no service will be held. The family will scatter her ashes at a later date.
