Clinton D Keeler, 94. Son, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great friend, raconteur, logophile, force of nature. Born 30th September 1922.
A lifelong resident of Oakland, graduate of Oakland High, graduate of UC Berkeley, World War II veteran (Okinawa), self-employed as a Diamond Tool salesman until the morning of his fatal heart attack.
Clint's magic resided in his ability to enchant a cadre of family and friends who represented every generation and thought of him lovingly as a friend, mentor, role model and confidante. His exuberance, his peerless driving maneuvers, his verbally colorful tennis matches were the stuff of legend at numerous dinner parties.
He is survived by his sons, Todd Keeler-Wolf (Virginia), Lindon Keeler (Paula Keeler) and Ross Keeler; his daughter Reed Keeler- (Scott ); grandchildren Evan Keeler-Wolf, Asa Keeler-Wolf (Simon) and Dana Keeler-Wolf, Ashley (Zeb) Keeler-Reis, Rosey Keeler-Reis, Leah Ballah and Jason Nielsen; great-grandsons Levi and Cohen Seiler. Clint has been supported for more than 48 years by his amazing and loyal assistant/friend, Adele Crady and her husband Dave. Clint will be remembered and forever missed by his beloved breakfast, lunch and dinner companions and the familial staffs at Mama's Royal Cafe and the iconic Bay Wolf.
A memorial service will be held Saturday March 4th at 11AM at the Oakland Center for Spiritual Living, 5000 Clarewood Oakland CA 94618, oaklandcsl.org
