Jamie F. Perry Long-time resident of Pomona, California, Jamie F. Perry peacefully passed in her sleep on April 1, 2009. She was born in September 1922 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and has resided in Pomona since 1953. She graduated from Oakland High School in 1940 and attended nursing school in San Francisco.

Jamie was a valued member of Westmont Methodist Church since moving to Pomona in 1953. She was a loving foster mother who cared for more than 36 babies over a 30-year period. For many years, Jamie was a dedicated volunteer in her community for such organizations as the American Heart Association and the Diabetes Association. She was the Executive Secretary for the Pomona Valley Hearing Society and was a member of the Westmont Elementary P.T.A. Jamie was an active member of other organizations such as the Pomona Valley Mother of Twins Club, Pomona Valley Democratic Women's Club, and the Pomona Valley Democratic Club. She opened her home as the neighborhood-polling place for more than 50 years.

Jamie is survived by her husband of nearly 36 years, Albert Perry; her son Jim Deitemeyer and his wife LeAnne; daughter-in-law, Lynde Deitemeyer; daughter Patricia Kimbell and her husband, Larry; son Wayne Perry and his wife Emmy; son Paul Perry and his wife Pam; daughter Susan Lewis; 16 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great granddaughter. She also leaves behind two sisters, Norma Jones, and Vera Ingle. Her son Tom Deitemeyer in 2007 and her daughter, Pamela Fernandes in 1993, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 6th at 1:30 PM at Todd Memorial Chapel on N. Garey Ave., Pomona. Internment immediately following at Oak Park Cemetery, Claremont.
