Joseph Clare

Joe was born in Oakland, CA. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, his son, Leonard Clare of Oakland and daughter, Joanne Clare of Danville.
He graduated from Oakland High school in 1940.
After a year of college he worked in the shipyard in Richmond. Served in the U.S. Army during World War II 76th infantry Division. Joe fought in 3 major campaigns in Europe.
Joe retired in 1977 from Clare's Pipe Shop in Oakland.
He was a member of Crow Canyon Masonic Lodge, Oakland Scottish Rite and Aahmes Shrine.
He was a former member of Sirs Branch 15 and served on the board of directors.
He was an official for Bay Cities Racing Association for many years and a Battalion Chef in the Civil Defense Fire Dept.
After Joe retired he enjoyed traveling around the world with his wife.
In honoring Joe's wishes, there will be no services. Please celebrate his life with fond memories, a kind word and a toast to a life will-lived and well loved.
