Merle Morgan Saunders died peacefully 12/1/04 of congestive heart failure. She was born Nov. 7, 1919 in Fresno, CA. Raised in Oakland, CA, she attended Westlake Jr. High, Oakland H.S. & UC Berkeley. She married Jack, her husband of 63 years, February 12, 1941. She was a wonderful homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother, and a longtime member of Orinda Community Church. She is survived by her husband, Jack, brother, Alan & sister-in-law, Billie Morgan, nieces, Jan & Sue Morgan, son, Scott of Orangevale, daughter, Debbie, & son-in-law, Bill Pugh of Lafayette, grandsons, Casey & Kelly, granddaughter, Morgan, sister-in-law, Glenna Saunders, niece & nephew, Sallee & Jack Woodmansee, and many loving friends. In lie of flowers, please send donations to Hospice & Palliative Care of Contra Costa. Memorial service will be held December 13, 2pm at Orinda Community Church, 10 Irwin Way, Orinda.
