Two Reservists Feared Dead In
Navy Jet Crash

Stockton - Two naval reservists were missing and presumed dead today after their TV-2 jet trainer from Oakland Naval Air station crashed on MacDonald Island in the Stockton Channel 10 miles north of here yesterday.

The Navy identified them as Cmdr. Caeser M. Dangott, 36, of Oakland, the pilot, and Lt. Cmdr. Michael J. Daniels, 51, Stockton.

The plane plunged straight into the ground, gouging a 15-foot hole and scattering steel fragments over the area of a city block.

Rescue parties could find no trace of the airmen.

Dangott was commanding officer of VF Squadron 876, NAS Oakland. He was survived by his wife, Zigrida, and parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Dangott of Oakland. He was a real estate man in civilian life.

Daniels was survived by his wife, Helen, and a daughter, Mrs. Patricial Ann Moreno who lived at the same address. He was an aviation technical inspector at the Stockton Naval supply annex.
